Real-world adventures

Some of the best games don't happen on a screen. These three turn any Michigan outing into an adventure — each one is playable right here.

🧭 Geocaching

Geocaching is the world's biggest treasure hunt: millions of hidden containers ("caches") stashed in parks, forests, and downtowns. Michigan is packed with them.

Warm up with 6 virtual caches — read each riddle, pick the Michigan spot it's hiding in, and log your find!

👻 Ghost Hunting

Michigan is one of the most haunted states in America — old asylums, lonely lighthouses, Victorian mansions with unfinished business. Pick a haunt, investigate it, and collect your evidence. Can you close all 8 cases?

You don't need a TV crew's budget to hunt ghosts — curiosity and respect will take you further than gadgets. Start with the haunted places: many offer guided ghost tours, which are the perfect first hunt because you're legal, safe, and with people who know the stories.

Your starter kit is probably already in your pocket: a phone (voice recorder app for EVPs, camera for photos), a flashlight, and a notebook. Serious hobbyists add an EMF meter and a spirit box, but here's the honest truth — the best 'equipment' is patience. Sit quietly in a reputedly active spot for twenty minutes and just listen.

The rules matter more than the gear: never trespass (abandoned doesn't mean open), never investigate alone, and treat every location — and any spirits — with respect. Ask permission, introduce yourself out loud, say thank you.
